Steel and Fiberglass Pipe Transport are types of pipes produced using different building materials. Each of them has different properties and uses. Steel pipes are a popular pipe material often used in applications that require durability and strength. Steel pipes are usually made of carbon steel or alloy steel.
Fiberglass pipes, on the other hand, are produced from a composite material containing glass fiber, a material also known as glass fiber reinforced polymer (GRP) or glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP).
Steel and Fiberglass Pipe Transport is a very sensitive and careful process. Technical knowledge and experience is required for loading, transporting and placing in the appropriate vehicle for predetermined transportation.
SD-C Haulage CO. follows and applies the following steps for a Steel and Glass Fiber Pipe Transport.
Planning: A plan is made for transporting the pipes. This plan includes loading, unloading, determining the route, obtaining Heavy Transport (Oversize Transport) permits on the route where the transport will be made, and other logistics details.
Preparation: Pipes are classified according to Steel or Fiberglass or Plastic raw material, appropriate lifting equipment is determined and the most suitable vehicle is selected according to its dimensions.
Loading: Steel Pipes are more durable than Pipes made of other raw materials, but loading Pipes with Glass Fiber and Plastic raw materials requires attention, slings of the lifting equipment should be selected and positioned correctly during the lifting to be made for loading. Considering these conditions, it is loaded to the most suitable transport vehicle determined by using the most suitable equipment, and with the same care, the pipes are fixed to the vehicle on which they are loaded.
Transportation: For the smooth delivery of the pipes, safe navigation in traffic and transportation to the destination determined by the customer are ensured with the support of the pilot car on the predetermined route.
Delivery: If requested at the address specified by the customer, the Pipes are lifted from the vehicle with the appropriate lifting equipment and lowered to the floor determined by the customer and the Pipes are delivered.
